Growing Pains

DS has always been small for his size, I guess he takes after me (I'm 4'11).  The last couple of months, he's been complaining that his knees and legs hurt.  I told the pedi at his 3 yr appt. and he said its normal growing pains.  I asked him if there is anything I could do or give him and he said no.

Any of your ladies LO's have this?  What do you do?  DS gets them at night right b4 he is going to go to sleep.  I just rub his legs with some lotion that my mom has for pain (kinda like icy hot).  He usually is content with that.

My Mom says that this is happening cuz DS will grow a lot all of a sudden, but I dont know, I guess time will tell.  TIA

Yes. Ds complains of his feet and legs hurting. I posted about it on parenting last week and like 10 people responded saying their kids did the same thing at night during growth spurts. Some said their kids had growing pains so badly they had to use ice packs or administer Motrin. I'm 5'0 so I guess I don't remember having them because I never did

My oldest has also complained of what I expect our growing pains.  He doesn't like me to rub, says it hurts so we've settled on some tylenol and the ice pack.  We have a huge ice pack, it's seriously like 2' x 2' so when he wants to sit with that for ages on his legs I know it's the real deal.  Also I had horrific growing pains as a kid.  I remember one night sitting at the dining room table, eating a baked potato and bursting into tears so hard food was falling out of my mouth.  The pain was insane, so I know growing pains are real.

We've also been dealing with, what I assume to be, growing pains.  He gets them in his legs and feet and always in the middle of the night.  We usually just give him some tylenol and he is good within a few minutes.
