had a previous c section after i was stuck at 9cm for 8 hours with an op/asynclitic baby. I was in labor consistent contractions to c section for 32.5 hours... 9 lb 6 oz beautiful boy.
Now 2 years later.... I was due this past sunday the 15th. Monday night the 16th at 2030 I had my bloody show and contractions started shortly after. Labored all night while letting DH sleep. At 0600 (17th) took DS to daycare and labored at home for a while. Everything was very intense very quick. I was having double contractions and they were very strong. Headed to the hospital which took 1 hr. got to triage and she confirmed my water broke and I was 3-4 and baby is OP! Again! I was so discouraged because I felt pain like I had when I was 8-9 cm with my DS :(Ed
We were admitted and they wanted to do a growth ultrasound due to it being hospital VBAC policy....so dumb. They tell me baby measured 7.7 and I just laughed because a baby has never been under 8.12 in my family.
I was having back labor again and was discouraged and going now the same c section path again I decided on the epi after I was checked and at 5 at about 1130.
Labored the rest of the day with the best placed epi! I did hands and knees could move around and pretty much do whatever but the extreme back pain was gone! My doula did rebozo and very trick in the book to get the baby to turn. I stalled at 7-8 cm depending on who you talked to. At 2200 the. OB who was monitoring from his house called and told my midwife if I wasn't complete by midnight he would come for the section! My husband told me this later by the way we decided on the smallest amount of pitocin and at exactly midnight I was 9 to 9.5 with a tiny lip... Midwife had me push baby's head through the lip. I'm convinced it didn't work but she called the OB and said sorry we are pushing this baby out!
Started pushing around 0030 (now the 18th). I used the squat bar which had so much pressure I couldn't do that anymore....longer story short I pushed for 2 hours last 30 min of pushing the OB was driving in to section me! They couldn't get baby on the monitor so they stuck an internal... I saw the OB stick his head in and my DH yelled get the Hell out of here! Hahaha next two contractions I pushed my team green turned little girl into my husbands hands! He handed her to me and we discovered together she was a girl
8 lbs 13 oz 21.5 in long. Came out sideways with her nose facing my right thigh. I tore horribly and was stitched up for almost 3 hours still better than my c section though! Not going to lie pushing was the hardest thing I was ever done in my life but I would do it again in a second!
