If you're currently insured, call your OB/GYN office and ask for the billing code(s) for the NT Scan & blood work. Then call your insurance company and find out if the code(s) you were given are covered. If yes, you know you don't have to pay out of pocket, if no, they should be able to give you an idea of how much it will cost.
If you're not insured, just ask your OB/GYN's office how much.

I have Kaiser and it is covered in my copay and lab costs. I know for non HMO plans it can be part of your deductible. Your doctor can usually give you a more understandable answer than the insurance company can.
I do not live in the US, so not sure if this helps, but my NT scan was covered by insurance. I am 35 though, so while I don't consider myself high risk, my insurance only covers the test if you are 35+. The test would have been 250 euros out of pocket.

Mine does not cover it unless your of a certain age or any of the tests they do runs in your family. For me if insurance does not cover it, it is $465 I believe it was.

It's going to depend on the Dr. you are seeing. I had mine today and we had to talk to billing which is the only way I knew how much ours cost. For the ultrasound it was $381. We hadn't been to the lab yet, and our lab is billed separately from the Dr. so it will be a little more for that.
Call you insurance up and ask if they cover it or not. Then you can tell the Dr.'s office that they don't cover it so you need to know how much it is (if that ends up being the case). Since we had insurance, every time I asked how much something was going to be they would just say, well we have to send it to the insurance first and they will discount it... blah blah.
I just found out that mine is not covered by my insurance. I am scheduled to do mine on Thursday, June 7th. They have informed me that it will cost $200. I live in Santa Monica, CA. Hope this helps!

Hi Joanna
We are a family from Denmark, and we will spend the next 3 weeks traveling around California in a Camper.Unfortunately the period is exactly our window for a NT scan, and we will therefore need to have this done here, instead of in Denmark.
Can you share the name of the clinic you used to your NT Scan?
With warm greetings and thoughts from Denmark. Pernilla and Morten
