im having a c sec and i just assumed after 2 weeks i would be back to normal ready to go to work, drive, lift and be my self again. I dont no where i got this time period from. So I wanted to know how long did it take you to completely recover 100%. My baby will be in the nicu for a month so I want to go back to work as soon as possible so I can have more time with lo when he is allowed to come home. TIA
Re: recovery time
I would say that a full recovery time is more like 6 weeks.
My OB doesn't want me driving for at least that long. (Some woman on here say their OB said they can drive a whole lot sooner) He also doesn't want me doing anything but take care of the baby for the first 6 weeks. No housework etc. You can't life anything.
Its MAJOR surgery and you have to let your body heal. If you do to much you could open the cuts and then have problems. You don't want that.
Good luck
I felt pretty much 100 percent after 5-6 weeks. I was also cleared to drive at 2 weeks. I did take it easy as far as lifting goes for the first month because when I would do any heavy lifting or overexert myself I would start bleeding again.
I'm a notoriously fast healer, so I may be an oddball.
After 2 weeks I got clearance to lift my kid in her carrier so long as it didn't bother me and to drive again.
By 4 weeks I was nearly normal. Now, at 8 weeks, there is no indication I even had surgery other than the visible scar.
Depending on your job you should be OK enough to go back after 2-3 weeks, but don't rush it; it will ultimately make everything worse.

I'm almost 6 wks PP and I'm definitely not 100% yet. I did start driving after 2 weeks, my doctor said as long as I wasn't taking the pain meds I could drive.
My incision got infected from the placenta so I still have an open wound that is slowly healing, almost totally closed now. So I have had to deal with a little more than some people.
Complete recovery was honestly 6 weeks. I started driving after about 2 weeks and was pretty active around the house doing light cleaning. But it did take 6 weeks to stop aching and being sore from time to time.
I would have been ok going back to work after 6 weeks, but just know that you'll probably be pretty tired at the end of the day. Depending on what you do, if you have more of an office job, you should be ok.
A couple weeks. I can't imagine not driving for 6 weeks. My OB said that as soon as I was off pain meds and felt able, it was okay to drive. I waited 2 weeks to drive alone with the baby(ies) just to be on the safe side, but made a couple Target runs solo after the first week.
I would've felt totally fine to go back to work at 2 weeks if there wasn't a baby at home to care for.
(read it. you know you want to.)

I am mommy to four and there was no one to do the jobs I needed to get done! I was feeling pretty good by 6-8 days and started driving when I had to at 8 days. I was definitely lifting (my 11 lb baby + carseat!) and cleaning and doing laundry and "working" by 2 weeks. If you're motivated by having that extra time with your baby, you can do it! The biggest challenge would've been finding clothes that fit right. I don't envy you!
