It's a 3 part poll here. Presuming you had the funds to do so,
1. At what age would your YOUNGEST be before you opted to vist Disneyland/Disney World?
2. How long would you stay (in terms of days)?
3. Which would you hit first -- Disneyland or Disney World?
DD -- 5YO
DS -- 3YO
Re: Poll: When would you do Disney?
1. At what age would your YOUNGEST be before you opted to vist Disneyland/Disney World?
We took DS at a year - but it was more for the adults in are family then him. We took him again just before he turned 3 and he really enjoyed it especially the character meals.
2. How long would you stay (in terms of days)?
We live in south fl so most of our trips have been shorter 3 - 4 days more of a long weekend. We have stopped by for lunch on the way north before too.
3. Which would you hit first -- Disneyland or Disney World?
I would do World because of location. I would do whatever is easier /cheapiest for you.
1. I want my youngest to be old enough to remember it, so age 6 is what we're thinking. DS will be 9.
2. A week
3. DisneyWorld
-Age 5
-4 days
-World
this
1. DS1 will be 4 and DS2 will almost be 2.
2. We are staying in FL for 6 days so we can do other things like the beach and visit family. We will probably only go the park for 1-2 days.
3. World
My twins are 5! My baby is 3!
DS#2 - Allergic to Cashew, Pistachio, Kiwi
DS#3 - Allergic to Milk, Egg, Peanut, Tree Nuts and Sesame
1. We are planning a trip for this December when DD will be 4.5
2. We will stay 5 nights/4 days
3. World for us... Much closer
If we still lived in Vegas or LA we would get passes and go all the time. B/c a trip will cost at least a grand (probably 2) that is why we are waiting.
We took our daughter (only one) for the first time when she was 2 1/2. We'll be going back in April and probably won't go back again until she's between 8-10; presuming she'll even be interested in going back.
1. 2 1/2
2. 4-5 days
3. Disney World
1. We took DD1 for a 2 day trip to DW when she was 10 months old. The first day ended up being more of an adult, take our time around Epcot day and the second day was a laid back, cater to the baby day. It was a relaxing fun trip but DD1 was an EXTREMELY easy baby. We took her again when she was 19 months and again at 23 months. These trips were even more fun. Now DD2 on the other hand, is definitely not what I would call easy. I might consider taking her now but would probably take her closer to 2. In theory, my youngest would have to be old enough to ride most of the rides (which is pretty easy in DW). I have older stepkids so I know how annoying it is when kids are into different rides and you spend half your trip waiting with the kid who can't/won't ride and the other half split up.
2. We typically do 7 or 8 day trips and I keep thinking if we could add one more day it would be perfect.
3. Disney World because I think after you have done DW, DL would be a let down.
1. We went when DS was 4y1m and DD was 2y8m. They loved it and still talk about it 8 months later. However, I am looking forward to going back when they are older and we don't have to take the strollers and they can ride all the rides.
2. We were in Orlando a week but only did the park for 4 days(with a park hopper). We went to the parks for 2 days, rested a day, park for 2 days, rested a day.
3. I have only been to Disney World but I live on the eastern side of the country.
1. At what age would your YOUNGEST be before you opted to vist Disneyland/Disney World? We went for a day this summer when our boys were 29 months and it was a disaster. Alex especially HATED it. I know people who have gone w/kids that age and they loved it, and my boys do like looking at the pics now and talking about meeting Buzz and Woody, etc. It really depends on the kid but I'd prefer to wait till they're at least 3-3.5. We wouldn't go back with our two until they're probably 5.
2. How long would you stay (in terms of days)? 4-7 days
3. Which would you hit first -- Disneyland or Disney World?
Disney World because it's WAY closer. (8-hr drive versus-what? 3000 miles?) I've never been to Disneyland though so I really can't compare.1) depends on your kid(s), we're going with a 3 3/4 year old this weekend but I have friends who've gone with younger.
2) we are just doing a long weekend so 4 nights (that's plenty for the little guy)
3) Disneyland. it's closer and smaller so I feel like we'll get to see more even if we don't do the park every day.
1. At what age would your YOUNGEST be before you opted to vist Disneyland/Disney World? At least 3
2. How long would you stay (in terms of days)? I want at least 5 days in the parks
3. Which would you hit first -- Disneyland or Disney World? Disney World
1. We went to Disney World for the first time this past November, DD was 4.5
2. We arrived on a Tuesday and left the following Monday. Our schedule was:
Tues-arrive and get settled, hang out at hotel pool, go shopping for snacks, etc
Wed-Magic Kingdom
Thurs-1/2 day at Sea World
Fri-Downtown Disney, mini golf, etc
Sat-Animal Kingdom
Sun-1/2 day at Sea World
Mon-Leave
3. We've only ever been to Disney World
I will preface this by admitting that I am a Disney fan! Huge fan! I am very fortunate that I live less than an hour from Disneyland and practically lived there throughout highschool and college (my bestie and I had annual passes so we'd just hop over there after school for dinner and a few rides). Obviously now with the park being SO expensive and money put to better use our outings have been far less frequent! That being said we've already taken DD to Disneyland 4 times. Once at 3 months for the cute photo ops (we had free tickets), 10 months with MIL (she paid), 2nd birthday, and right before her 3rd birthday (friend works there and signed us in for free!)
1. At what age would your YOUNGEST be before you opted to visit Disneyland/Disney World? Had we had to pay we would have waited a while. I probably would have taken her right before she turned 3 so she was still free. Plus she'd be tall enough to ride most things including the Matterhorn!
2. How long would you stay (in terms of days)? If we went to Disneyworld, it would have to be at least 4 days to make it worth it to me. That place is HUGE!
3. Which would you hit first -- Disneyland or Disney World? I think this varies on your location. Obviously I did Disneyland first but if I were an East coaster I'd do Disneyworld. But, if I lived in the middle I'd probably do Disneyland first since it's the original place and small enough to not be overwhelming for a LO.
1. At what age would your YOUNGEST be before you opted to vist Disneyland/Disney World? Well, the first time we went, DD1 was only six months old, and for sure it was more for us than it was for her. We took her a year later at 18 months, and she loved it. We're considering going again this year, when DD2 will be 2/2.5. I think that is a good age to start, but then again, the older they are, the more they can do.
2. How long would you stay (in terms of days)? So far our trips have only been long weekends, and we only spent one day at WDW. If we were going for the purpose of going to several parks, I'd probably want to spend four or five days, including a day at the pool or beach.
3. Which would you hit first -- Disneyland or Disney World? Disney World. One, because it's closer to us, and two, because it's supposed to be better.
1. At what age would your YOUNGEST be before you opted to vist Disneyland/Disney World? 9 mos... we've been twice, and DD was 10 mos the first time, almost 3 yrs the second. Both trips were awesome, and she thoroughly enjoyed both.
2. How long would you stay (in terms of days)? I think 5 days, 4 nights is a perfect WDW trip length... our trips were both shorter. Hoping for a longer one in the next year or so.
3. Which would you hit first -- Disneyland or Disney World? World--it's way bigger than DIsneyland. We're on the east coast and have never really considered Disneyland.
we just got back from our trip in early dec! did disney world for 5 days (a total of 8 day trip) kids were almost 5 and almost 2! perfect time and money well spent!!!!
we can't wait to go again and you can do disneyworld quite nicely for a family of 4 for under 5K--or even close to under 4K if you shop around for airfare and other bargains!!!
1. At what age would your YOUNGEST be before you opted to vist Disneyland/Disney World?
DD would have to be at least three, preferably four (DS would be 6/7)
2. How long would you stay (in terms of days)?
4-7 days...we'd want the visit to be worth it.
3. Which would you hit first -- Disneyland or Disney World?
DisneyWorld!
1. At what age would your YOUNGEST be before you opted to vist Disneyland/Disney World? We're going soon!!! Just before the youngest is 2 (oldest is 3.5years)
2. How long would you stay (in terms of days)? 4 days
3. Which would you hit first -- Disneyland or Disney World? We're on the west coast, so Disneyland, of course! Which ever is closer is what I'd no matter where I was from.
1. At what age would your YOUNGEST be before you opted to vist Disneyland/Disney World? 1.5 years old, we are going this fall
2. How long would you stay (in terms of days)? 3 day's at the park
3. Which would you hit first -- Disneyland or Disney World? Disneyland since we live in CA
