I'm starting to get it..

All growing up my mom would tell me when I looked nice or did well at sports, even if I stunk. It was just the fact that I was trying. I remember rolling my eyes at her and thinking she had to say that because she was my mom.

Looking back at DD's baby pictures, her ears were pretty pointy. Lots of ppl commented on them, and BIL said something about it the other day. Kind of like "HAHA, I wondered if they would round out, those were VERY pointy" I noticed it...but not really, ya know? Looking at her eyes tonight, they settled into a pretty creamy brown color, it is just plain beautiful. I would complain as a child that I wished I had my dads blue eyes, and my mom would say how pretty my brown eyes were.

Now I get it..... because I truely think that DD could be pretty ugly, and I would never know! My mom does think my eyes are beautiful. Whitney is the most beautiful looking creature I have ever seen!! Her wild hair is perfect, her birthmark, her teeth, her ears..whatever.

Its so funny how I am changing as a person....its weird, and awesome at the same time.

You're so sweet. Whitney is lucky to have a mommy that will teach her she's beautiful no matter what and truly see her that way. Oh and your BIL is rude. I don't know why people think it's OK to comment on something once it's changed to their liking. Like "you look great! You were so fat last winter but you've lost a ton of weight and now you look amazing!" wth

You are so sweet. You should print what you wrote out and put it in Whitney's baby book.

When DD was about 8 months old our friend (who has 3 kids) asked if we had the experience of thinking our newborn was so cute and beautiful, and then looking back at those pictures when she was a little older and saying "she wasn't cute then, but she's cute now" and then going through the same thing a little later. He said that with each kid he thinks they are super cute, then looks back at pictures and says, "they really weren't so good looking then, but they are so cute now". At the time, I said that DD looked the same to me and was cute at both times. Now, I look back at her newborn pictures and I get what he was saying. But she is definitely the more gorgeous and cutest kid ever NOW.

Marsam, did you have a box of tissues next to you when you said that?? LOL You are too sweet and a great mom. Whitney is truly blessed to have you! She is so beautiful and one day she will appreciate you calling her "pretty girl**". Even though one day she might roll her eyes at you too lol.

**Which I love BTW!! I call Cooper "handsome man" all the time lol.

haha. I didnt mean to be sappy, I just totally get it now. I never loved anyone like this. My mom probably thinks im super smart, beautiful, talented, yadi yadi yadi, because I am her daughter. Im sure I still get on her nerves though. lol

Thank you for getting me choked up at work. I know what you mean though. I think DS is the best thing ever created. He also had pointy ears when he was born, but they were the cutest pointy ears I have ever seen.

You are seriously such a great mom. I think Whitney is very lucky to have you. Your mom helped shape you into the woman you are today, and you will help shape Whitney. She is so blessed to have you as her guide.
