So the doc checked me last week and said I was 50% effaced, not dialated at all but the baby was low and she could feel her head. So how low is she then? What would be the approximate station? Just wondering TIA!
i got my first internal yesterday. i was told i was semisoft, fingertip dilated and at zero station (doc said baby's head was "right there").
BFP #1: 1/27/11, mc 3/17/11 at 9w2d, baby measured at 8w3d, no heartbeat
BFP #2: 5/13/11; beta #1: 382, beta #2: 7842.
heartbeat: 103 at 6 weeks; 146 at 7 weeks, 165 at 9 weeks, 173 at 12 weeks, 158 at 16 weeks.
I am not at all dilated and he didn't mention anything about whether or not I was effaced or what station the baby is at (I'm a scheduled section at 38 1/2 wks so it really doesn't matter), although he said the baby is "RIGHT here" and I know my belly is ON my lap. Lol.
"right there" =/= zero station. My OB also said her head was "right there", but then she specifed -1 to -2 station. Usually once you hit 0 labor is right around the corner. I was also 50% effaced and my cervix is "very soft". This was last week. I have my next check Friday.

Re: What station is the baby at? Just curious
so she could still have some major dropping to do
Just ask next time. They should document it - so next week they can tell you if the current week was the same or progress.
I was 50% effaced, 0 cm dilated and -1 and she also said the head was "right there."
Yeah I'll ask tomorrow for sure. In all the excitement I kind of forgot ;P
thanks!
I got checked today and she told me I was 2cm, 50% effaced. But she didn't tell me what station!

Embarrassed to ask... What does the station mean? Sorry if this is a stupid FTM question...
How low baby is in your pelvis. I think it goes up to -4 (higher) and as low as 2 (head popping out). Or something along those lines.
It goes from -5 (floating baby) to 0 (engaged) to +5 (crowning)
Well, there ya go
