XP: LO's Dry face

My LO's face always seems dry. We even have a build in humidifier in our heat pump but he's still dry. In the mornings I wash with a washcloth, no soap. Bath time (every other day) we were using Johnson's Head and Toe and pedi said that's probably causing the drying and to use just regular Dove. Well it seems even worse with the dove so going to just stop using soap at all on his face... I put Eucerin (sp?) on his face at least twice a day. Still dry....

Any recommendations????

Re: XP: LO's Dry face

  • Is he outside a lot?  This cold weather and wind can be harsh on a little one's skin.  Make sure to moisturize his skin prior to going outside.  You might want to look into a cool mist humidifier for just his room.  My kids cheeks would always dry out this time of year, I would just put lotion on them.  Maybe try a different lotion.  I used Vaseline products on them.
  • Try CeraVe.  My kids tolerate it much better than goopy Aquaphor.  Our dermatologist suggested it and it works great for us (we have eczema to deal with so we have tried a lot of different lotions).

  • We use Auqaphor and slather it on the girls when there skin feels dry.  Dylan's drys out more due to wiping it after meals.
  • DS has way sensitive skin and luckily we cloth diaper so I found an amazing cream.  It's called CJ's BUTTer.  It's semi-costly but amazing on chapped cheeks and excema and dry skin.  Maybe that will help!
