If u are thinking of hiring a doula

I highly, highly recommend it! I had a terrible experience with an epidural and pitocin with my first, do I decided to go med free and hire a doula. I didn't have severe contractions until my water broke. I was in active labor for about 1.5 hours and only the last 45 was it really bad. I was getting to the point where I thought I couldn't take it anymore and was asking about other pain med options. My doula kept encouraging me that I was so close to delivery. The last 15 was much easier to handle. Then I pushed for about 15 minutes. The pushing was actually less painful then going through the contractions. Anyways, compared to a lot of women, I had a fast, delivery. If I didn't have my doula, I would have caved and gotten an epi and probably slowed my labor and dragged on the delivery like my first. She was well worth the money and also made the experience a lot better for me and DH.
