I think my number 1 is to develop more meaningful friendships with people and also develop family friends.
Aside from that, I want to be a more present mom. I want to spend less time on the computer/my phone/facebook/pinterest and more time actively engaging with my kiddos.
This is my year to start working out again. I don't know when or how that will happen but I am determined. Perhaps another marathon if I can get my butt in gear.
The last would be to finish up on neverending household projects like finishing my dh's office, finishing the kitchen and putting up some molding. How I'm going to do this with a handicap husband, I have yet to figure out but it's a goal nonetheless!
A good goal is both specific and measurable. I wanted to try to remove all caffeine but I just do NOT see that happening! So the best I can do is
Be on time for work. Leave the house by 6:30pm sharp.
I've gotten in the nasty habit of leaving the house at the very last second. Usually 1-2 minutes late which means I almost always clock in 2-3 minutes after I'm supposed to. Nobody has said anything to me about it but it makes the entire first part of my shift feel even more frenzied than it should. Plus, over the course of a paycheck, it actually shorts me 1.5 hours of pay which adds up over a year!!!
It was going to be to continue growing my business and beat my income for 2011, which I am very proud to say exceeded DH & my goal by 25%... but with a possible maternity leave, I'm not sure that that will be able to happen.
Happy about that exciting (and more important than $, of course!) prospect, though. New goal (not that it is something you can control) is to get pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy and baby.
Same old boring: lose baby weight, yada yada. But with a very specific twist: I will turn 40 in 9 months so my goal is to not only lose the baby weight and then some, but essentially get into the best shape of my life by my 40th, and complete some kind of adventure race next fall like Muddy Buddy or Warrior Dash or something. Or maybe even a half-marathon or something like that that I've never done.
And my other resolution (goal, really) is to really figure out what I want to do with my life and make a specific plan to do that, so that I can retire from my current job as early as possible (3.5 years) and still work and have an income afterrward but much more flexible hours while my kids are growing up.
My goal/resolution is to be able to quit my job in 2012. After that, I want to organize/clean out/de-clutter our house and keep it cleaner. I really hope to set a regular cleaning schedule and stick to it. Our house is so dusty and it grosses me out. With a baby who will eventually be crawling around, the dusty floors have got to go.
I'm finally ready to detox white sugars and processed foods out. I did it a few years ago and felt better than ever, but I've been building them back in more and more and my body just doesn't like it. I'm finalizing the plan, so DH and I plan to start in two weeks, once we have a good month of food planned out. Without that I won't succeed. Also, I'll assign a workout program with the food calendar. I was sad to see my gym membership go, but I don't have time for that level of commitment when I'm spending so much time in class. The plan is to pick gym back up in March and resume 5 days/ week. DH is super supportive of these efforts and helps me execute them fully.
I'm going to finish my degree. I'm taking 6 hours the first half of Spring semester, and then I will attempt 8 portfolios. Depending on how those go determines my Summer/ Fall load. I'm already 90 credits in, so I'm close. I WILL FINISH IN 2012!
Once I have paper in hand, I will get a new job. I've been keeping in touch with a few people who are willing to hire me.
the finite goals: - Plans meals each week - Date night once a month - House projects (Organize the art, craft supplies, Megan's room...) - Work on our backyard (deck, garden, play areas)
the how I want to feel goals: - Appreciate all that I have - Love more - Have more energy - Have more fun - Be more present with the kids and quiet that inner voice reminding me of all I need to do
Hmmm, that's a lot. Overall I want to just give myself a break / cut myself some slack. If I need an evening (or 10) to just veg, I want to take it and not feel guilty. I want to keep remembering that my needs and time for myself are just as important. I feel that really helped me in 2011 and I want to keep that up for 2012.
1. Lose the rest of my baby weight (only about 5 pounds) and also, get back into working out regularly. Be it walking, jogging, P90X, whatever. But it has to be something 3 or more times/week.
2. Use the Dave Ramsey cash system to budget our house hold. This goes hand in hand with paying down some debt and building an e-fund. If the cash system works, we should be able to start making headway on some of those small debts. I'm not expecting to pay anything off this year, I just want to get into the right habits.
3. Meal plan, coupon, and sale grocery shop. Which kind of goes a long with budgeting. We've already done one week of it and it should work if I can keep DH on board since he does most of the cooking. I'm trying to buy/plan meals that contain items that are on sale that week at HEB.
1) Get healthier. I've already started that one by starting a candida detox on Tuesday.
2) Stop texting/FB while in the car. I know it's a horrible habit and it must stop.
3) Get on top of my finances. I make enough where I should not live paycheck to paycheck. My mom made 20k a year raising 3 kids and paid off a house. I should be able to have better control of my finances.
1. Get to a specific weight (after healing after the baby) by exercising 4x a week and by cutting out junk food. I have a gym membership (just haven't been in months) and we used to be good about eating healthy. I've just been way too lax during the pregnancy and it's going to be hard to get my ass in gear.
2. Get my principal certification and start next school year with a new job that's out of the classroom. (I just finished my Master's and just have to do a state mandated course and the exam so this is doable by summer.)
3. Pay off some of our consumer debt. I'm not sure how difficult this will be when we start paying for child care and with maternity leave but we've been good about budgeting the last few months.
Good luck to everyone!

a total softball goal: survive a year as a working mom! i know it's absolutely doable, and there are many great examples of working moms just on this board, but for some reason, i'm skerred! i want to do things to the best of my ability, and i just have a feeling i'll be either overwhelmed at work or overwhelmed at home.
other goal is to stop being lazy about cooking so we can cut our dining expenditures.
I want to keep a cleaner/more organized house. I don't think I can stick with something as detailed as flylady, but I'm still looking for a schedule along those lines...
I also want to keep up my meal planning resolution from last year.
I used to say have a baby but I've had to quit making that a resolution because I've now broken it three years in a row. Well I guess I met it this year but not in the way it was intended.
So this year I am going to learn to be happy in the right now. Happy with what I have. I can not future plan, I can not predict-- and every time I try I am only disappointed so I need to learn to live in the here and now. I look around my life and think it's pretty good I have a lot of things to be happy about. I need to respect that and not mourn the things I may never have.
Sorry that's heavy... but happiness here I come!
Married October 28, 2006, TTC since March 2009
IUI #1-8 w/ clomid = BFN
IVF # 1 May, 2011 = BFP!!! Stillbirth at 26 weeks (placental failure/severe IUGR)
FET #1 February, 2012-- BFP! Beta #1=84 Beta #2= 207 Beta #3= 3,526
Our Rainbow Baby is on the Way!
1. Continue working on our marriage and making sure that the example we set for Cam is one of love and respect in our home.
2. Get out and DO more with Cam - since going back to work this past March, Cam and I have been out and about a lot less. I want family trips to the museum, to parks, camping, whatever.
3. I have to have to have to get into a manageable workout routine. We ran the Warrior Dash in November but I wasn't able to run from start to finish (thought I did complete all but one of the obstacles), and I definitely want to be able to do that next year - all obstacles, and all running in between. I don't have a weight in mind that I'd like to hit, but I'd definitely like to be more toned-up!
4. Build my business. I signed up as Scentsy consultant last week thanks to some encouragement from DH and my older sister and I am super excited to get that going!
5. Get a certain certification I need for my line of work that will afford me more advancement opportunities.

This year it will be to finally get myself back to the health I know and deserve (i.e. starting backup w/ a regular workout plan and back on GF diet).
I will learn to LGLG, finally LET GO of stinking grudges especially those petty things that really just don't matter and grow more in my faith.
Dh and I will have regular date nights (volunteer swap date nights anyone?), and have a blast trying for a sticky baby.

When 3 Became 4
Build my business
Eat better (going for clean eating 99% of the time)
Maybe work out
Decorate my house
Take a vacation
Get pregnant with #2 and have a healthy pregnancy.
Declutter and organization of our house (finally after living here for 3 years)
Start working out on a regular basis and get back to a healthier lifestyle.
My resolution is to get back into the healthy lifestyle that I have gotten out of.
and
Say No to things. I have a tendency to overwork and burn myself out because I never say No.
We have some financial stuff we need to take care of in 2012.
If we can sort out our financial stuff, I'm hoping to make serious headway on my longass list of house projects.
My goals:
1. Sign up for a gym and go at least twice a week.
2. Make an appointment with a doctor to get my iron and cholesterol checked. Make sure my thyroid gets checked more often.
3. Rehaul my wardrobe. (Now that I'm a mom and 30 I want a more grown-up wardrobe.)
4. Have 2 good research projects that are doable by the end of the spring semester.
5. Read to my son every night.
6. Start meal planning.
