Is anyone else LO on erythromycin for delayed gastric empting? My dd 6 weeks vomits after every feed over and ounce and hours after she eats as well. She is EBF and I have removed dairy and soy from my diet. She is also on prevacid and Zantac and maalox as needed. I was just wondering if anyone else has experience with this med and did it work.
TIA
Re: erythromycin?
I have been soy and dairy free for over a month, we have not been to an allergist, however DD daughters stools have cleared from blood to no blood on this diet. I did have over supply issues, but those are now undercontrol. We had and upper gi and Abd ultrasound last week which were normal but the radiologist did not that it took a long time for the barium to enter her small intestines. They don't want to do a gastric emptying test because their is not need to expose her to the radiation at this point.
Her stool is yellow to orange (orange bc of the maalox) however it is slighty mucusy. My first DD continued with mucus in her stool for the duration of our nursing relationship. We are unsure why.
She vomited at least an ounce after feeding, we had this confirmed with weights.
The only thing we have going for us right now is she is gaining weight.
We see a gi at pedi MassGeneral
I typed it wrong, not an hour after eating, but hours after eating. At night it will be 3+hrs between feeding and she will vomit out a fountain.
