Just lost everything I pumped :-(

I'm sitting here pumping and I look down in the bottle and see a flea in my milk!!!!!! Disgusting! I am already so upset because we have been trying to get rid of the fleas so we bathed our cat and dog in flea shampoo and our cat died shortly after. I feel like nothing is going right. And now I lost 5 ounces when I already can't keep up. Ugh. Fml.

  • That does stink.  On the flea note, have you tried advantage?  Every year close to fall our dog gets fleas.  Our vet recommends treating the dog and cat with advantage medicine and that alone kills them off.  We usually treat them two months in a row and that way the medicine is on them long enough that when the eggs start hatching the medicine is still effective and when they bite the animals, the fleas die.  We've never had to go to any other measures.

  • we just treat year round for fleas...that way the dog never gets them in the first place. And I also feel your pain about spilled milk...I barely make enough to keep up and the other day I got distracted while I was poring some into the bottle and spilled an ounce on the counter...I had to unfreeze part of my stash to compensate...i was highly upset!

  • UGH worst feeling ever... They say never to cry over spilled milk, but its heartbreaking to have to waste that liquid gold! Fleas are attracted to anything white, so your milk is their #1 target. We battled with fleas this fall with my dog, who is also white and it was a vicous cycle. We did frontline and also they say that you should sit a bowl of water out at night like under a lamp or with a light bulb shining driectly into the water... The fleas are attracted to the light and with drown in the water. I've never tried it, but I read about it somewhere when I was trying to do some research about ways to kill fleas without using pesticides.
