We got SSTN well each night in the crib - she has been doing it most of the time since about 4 1/2 months, now every night. We did do some CIO element of it (wannabe Ferber). Her nap routine is really erratic, unfortunately. We moved recently to another state, which is also made her schedule off. Her naps (if she gets any in!!) consist always in the swing or while being held. We really need her to nap in the crib for our sanity. Has anyone tried the CIO/Ferber with naps as well?
Another issue - she hates sleep sacks. Anyone found getting changed into a sleeper for a nap disruptive? I feel that if we do too much with her right when she show signs of being tired - she might get a "second wind." Any experience/thoughts?
Re: SSTN consistently - now must tackle naps
We did Ferber with her naps, too! It sends them a consistent message that sleep time is sleep time! Worked like a charm and she's been taking 2 naps a day at the same time every day. I freaking love Ferber.
As far as the sleep sack thing, change her 30 minutes before you plan on putting her down, then do some quiet activities like rocking or quietly reading.
