Nanny Services

Hi, I have been taking the last 6 months to be home with my son but the time has come for me to get back to work.  I'm going to do the self-employed route and will need a nanny for part-time during the week.

Any recommendations on nanny services?  Or even sitting services where I could find someone to do a regular schedule during the week?  I don't know anyone who can give me a personal recommendation for a specific nanny/ sitter who is available.

Thanks so much!

Re: Nanny Services

  • I use care.com and pretty happy with it. Nanny agencies charge a lot of money so we didn't want to go down that route. On care.com you post the position and nannies apply for the job. You can then choose, screen, and interview them as you like. They provide a basic background check and even call references for you if you'd like. Just as a word of warning though, the quality of applicants could be a mixed bag so it takes some time going through each one.

  • I haven't used them, but I think I've seen a lot of recs for Mo m's B es t Fri end agency. You can google and find their website.

  • Thanks!  I had been told about Care.com from an acquaintance who also warned me about the mixed bag of applicants.  And I'll look into Mom's Best Friend - that's a new one.  I had found Nannies From the Heart just from a google search.  All in all, it's a little daunting.

    Thanks again!
