Yes I am a tad neurotic. We started DD1 on solids at 4 mo and the twins at 6 mo. I can't remember what/when we did with DD1....she started earlier. I am very methodic...with twins I guess you have to be. They have tried rice cereal, barley, oatmeal, the 5 main veggies and bananas. We wait 3 days for each new one. No table foods until they have tried all baby foods.
Right now I give them 3 baby food meals a day and 4- 8 oz bottles which they don't always eat all of.
I can't remember when I moved up to feeding 2 containers at each meal with DD and since the twins started at 6 mo, I am just looking for a chart for sanity check on when to increase baby food and decrease formula.
Thanks!!
Re: Is there a "chart" w/rec feeding amounts by age?
I'm looking for the same thing. My son's doctor said he should be eating cereal/veggies 3 times a day by his 9 month appointment. I should have asked about the serving size. Right now he eats one serving and drinking about 4-6oz in addition to the cereal or veggie.
I started with cereal (all of the ones you mentioned above) and noticed that once he tried the veggie that he started making funny faces. I'm thinking of substituting his morning cereal with either a veggie or fruit starting this week. Did you notice the same thing?
J had his 6 month appt today and pedi told us to increase his solids to 3 meals and decrease his formula to approx 24 oz each day. Currently he has 2 solid meals and 28oz of formula a day. HTH!
Videos of telling my family and husbands family that we are preggo...with twins!
Formula intake shouldn't decrease until much closer to 12 months. All purees and table food should be in addition to the formula so if you find they aren't wanting much after solids, give the bottles first.
We do 3 time a day food, about 5-6 tablesoons each time sometimes more sometimes less depending on if she likes it or not...lol.... 4oz bottle after then 2, 6 oz bottle 1 around 3pm then at night before bed. Sometimes i feel like she eats all day
