I have seen this
seahorse mentioned here and there on TB. I didn't register for it but I am thinking about buying it. What exactly makes it a popular bump baby item? How long will it be used or needed?

Re: FP Seahorse
It lights up and plays music for an extended period... rather than glow worm.
DD liked her but it was not the crack machine everyone claimed it to be.
I think its cute and would use it with the next baby.

We named ours Sammy seahorse. It was my dd's best bud until about 9 months? We plan on using it again with this baby.
It is a god sent. I wouldn't do newborns with out it.
My DD basically ignored it until she was around 10 months old. She just wasn't one of those babies who appreciates it..lol
Now, she's almost 18 months old and she sleeps with it every night. She likes it because in the middle of the night if she wakes up and wants to, she knows how to push it to get some light and music.
Not sure if we're going to buy one for this baby. We might just stick with our mobile that shines on the ceiling. We'll see.
You'll find that babies' tastes are just as varied as adult tastes.
That was the only thing that soothed DD#1. She also had the sleep sheep, but she didn't care for it at all. Every baby is different, but it's cheap enough (IMO) to at least give it a try.
We got the blue one for DS and it just didn't seem to quite click with him when he was an infant, so we put it away to use for the next child. But he found it again a little before he hit 1 year and has loved it since. Like others have said, we'll often hear it go off in the overnight or early morning hours as he hits it to go back to sleep. It's really a nice self-reliance tool for them since it's so easy to work and very comforting in the dark.
Since DS is now attached to his, we bought the pink for DD. DS insisted that we take it out of the box and he then made sure we laid it down in her crib to wait for her.
