I have no idea what I am doing with children's shoe sizes since we dont have a LO yet. This year for the holiday's I want to get all my nieces and nephews a pair of TOMS .. I have figured out the older kids .. but can someone please tell me what the equivilant to a 5m us toddler size is? About how old is a child that wears that size?
TIA
Re: Shoe size for baby .. help!
This is going to vary SO much. If possible, I'd ask your sister/brother (or in law) for their shoe sizes. Kids grow so differently, especially with shoes.
My 2.5 year old is in a 6 but she has a friend her age in an 8 or 9. She was hardly in a size 5 I want to say - she kind of hit a spurt and went from 4-6 really quick around this time last year and has been in a 6 ever since.

My kid is 18 months and wears a size 6. So those sizes will vary. My fraternal twin nephews wear different shoe sizes.
I would call your brothers/sisters and specifically ask them. Or order gift cards.
My 14 month old is just growing out her size 2s, her shoes for her Christmas outfit are 6-12 month crib shoes because we couldn't find much that fit her in the right color! Lol!
That is so nice of you to buy all your neices and nephews shoes! Especially since TOMS goes to a good cause.
I worked in an upscale shoe store. We were always told to recommend baby shoes with very soft soles. They also recommended shoes with soles which could slide a bit (no rubber bumps, ect.). This allows baby to walk more naturally without restriction. I personally wouldn't put a 5 month old in shoes. Our best selling baby shoes were Robeez. They are sold by age group (0-12months, 12-24months, ect.), which makes it easy to buy as a gift. Here's a link explaining that experts say barefoot is best:

I might sound like a salesperson, lol. But I swear I dont work for them. :-) Happy Holidays
This. My son is almost 3 and wears a 9. My niece is 7 weeks younger than him and wears a 6. It varies so much between kids, I would ask their parents to be sure.
