Last week or maybe the week before we had the conversation about whether or not we were having our kids call people ma'am and sir. I think I was the only one who said yes since we live closer to the south.
The other day we were in the store and I asked the teenage boy at the counter a question and he just said "yes" in response. DS turned around and said "you need to call her ma'am!!" I guess we still need some more instruction on how to properly use good manners
Re: f/u to ma'am/sir conversation
Haha, that's pretty funny. It's hard to explain to kids how we as parents are trying to guide and teach them by correcting them but that they shouldn't correct other people.
That reminds me of the other day when DD was playing with her kitchen and she served DH some play food. He didn't say anything and then she turned around and in a motherly tone she said, "saaaaay thank you!".
