WWYD Target Quality

Let me start with my dd is really finicky about shoes, and socks and would prefer to run around barefoot. It is almost a daily battle to get her into shoes.

We bought some dress shoes at target, really cute red ones that are shinny (not the glittery ones, they are like a red patent leather look)

She loves, them and happily put on her shoes and socks today to go to school. When I picked her up there were several areas where they were pealing around the toe. Obviously target is not the highest quality, but we have bought shoes there before. And this is the first time she has worn them! Would you return them?

Re: WWYD Target Quality

  • Since she's only worn them once, I would probably give it a try, but not expect much.

  • I would try to return them.  With defective merchandise you should have pretty good luck getting your money back.

  • Definitely.  They shouldn't peel after 1 use, or even 10 uses.  Maybe another pair won't do the same thing.  Just be friendly to customer service, and hopefully they'll return the favor ;)

  • DD1 has a pair of brown Mary Janes from Target that also peeled after the first wear. Not happy! I would definitely try to return/exchange them. I've returned a sweater from there that had a hole in the armpit after one wear. I would have returned DD's shoes except I no longer had the tags or receipt.

  • I stopped buying shoes at Target for this reason. You are entitled to a refund, shoes should not peel after one wearing. Scuffs I can understand, but peeling is a design flaw.
