So I am not really sure why I'm asking, I just need validation...and comfort from those in the same boat! 

I got the positive OPK on 11/25, so I am thinking I probably ovulated on the 26th or 27th (I don't chart).  To be conservative, let's say the 27th.  That makes today 8DPO.  I know way too early to test but what is the absolute earliest you would test?  I'm trying to hold out until this coming Sunday...but I have a test sitting in my drawer at home calling my name....I also have a Happy Hour on Thursday so that is my excuse, that i should test Thursday morning to see if I should have a drink or not Thursday night....

I think the most common "early" day to test is 10dpo. If you are 8 dpo today, Thursday would be 11dpo. I would definitely test that morning if I were you, but just keep in mind that it would still be early and it could be a false negative at that point. The TTCAL board has a blog with average rates of BFPs on certain DPO. I dont have a link but I'm sure you could find it easily on that board from someones siggy. GL!

I would try to hold out till 12dpo but 10dpo at the earliest!

I would hold out until 12 DPO. I definitely would skip happy hour, too. You never know until the fat lady sings!
