Trouble TTC

Acupuncture bruise?

I went to acupuncture on Thursday and left with a big ole bruise on my belly.  It's so yucky... half-dollar size and black and blue.  It doesn't hurt.  Has this happened to anyone else?  Am I crazy to want to take a pic and show my acupuncturist next time?

Re: Acupuncture bruise?

  • Yes! It happens to me too.  I've had bruises from acupuncture on my ankles, the tops of me feet, and my wrists. I told my acupuncturist about it and she said it's normal.

  • I also got a really nasty looking one on my stomach too, it was couple inches over and down from my belly button. I showed my acupuncturist the next time I was in and he said it was ok, but he didn't want to use that point again for a while. He also loosened the needles whenever he did them on my stomach after that. Like smurray, I've also gotten them on the tops of my feet and wrists too, but they were mild compared to the tummy one! It took a couple weeks for mine to totally fade...hope yours is quicker Smile

  • After 2.5 months of acu I finally got my first bruise a week ago, on my abdomen under my belly button.  I think it's normal to bruise occasionally.
  • It happened to me on my hands too, I was worried because it didn't go away immediately but after a few days, back to normal.

  • I bruised one time and on my belly. It is perfectly normal to bruise from accu. They have no way of knowing if they are going to hit a capalery. Just like with injects, sometimes you bleed and bruise others you dont.
