Calling all Pie-Makers!

I'd like to make a chocolate pie for DH tomorrow, and I have zero pie making experience. I'm pretty good with cookies and brownies, though...

Anyway, does anyone have a good recipe? Tips and tricks for baking it are much appreciated.

This'll be a post and run as I have to go run errands... but I'll check in!

I don't think I've ever made any kind of chocolate pie before -- I'm not much of a pie person. I'm guessing that most recipes will call for you to blind bake the crust. You'll get the best results if you poke fork holes in the bottom and then put a piece of foil filled with dry beans in the bottom (to weight down the crust) before you bake it.

I am assuming this is a chocolate cream pie. If it is a chocolate cream pie recipe, then make sure you really beat the chocolate and cream for at least 7 minutes on high. This will make your cream nice and fluffy. I do not have a specific recipe. However, I would check Smitten Kitchen (the blog).
