A friend of mine is having an incredibly hard time. She's early 2nd tri and had to wean off whatever depression/anxiety meds she was taking before TTC. They recently upped her dosage of zoloft, but she said she had a big breakdown last night and was googling abortion clinics, hoping they didn't find a heartbeat at today's appt, etc. Like, she's flipping out.
She knows these thoughts aren't her "own," that she wanted this, etc. But she can't seem to fight the voice inside...or it's getting worse.
Anyone with experience with this? Did you take meds? Which ones/what dosage? Any other advice/resources for her?
TIA.
Re: Severe depression while pregnant? (abortion mentioned)
My friend is going through the same thing TTC #2. Her psychiatrist and OB need to have a conference call to figure out what they can do for her, what is safe, what risks are worth it, etc.
I'm so sorry to hear she's going through this. I'm glad she's at least aware that these thoughts aren't "her".

I didn't have thoughts about ending the pregnancy, but I was convinced that DH was going to leave me and would literally weep at my office desk after I saw him at lunch time because I just knew he wouldn't be there when I got home. Or, I knew he was going to die on the way home. Completely ridiculous stuff.
I took 10 mg of Lexapro every day. It worked very well.
LLCG were you able to breastfeed while on the Lexapro? If she's gone that far, she may need 24 hour supervision while they change her meds and get her "stable". If possible, someone should be with her at all times.
