Mucus Plug question

Lurking here...

 I have a question, how soon did you lose your mucus plug. My sister is 28 wks-3 days and she has already lost her mucus plug. The doctor told her it was normal for this to be happening. I was just wondering, I am a couple weeks behind her, how soon did you lose yours?

I haven't lost mine yet, I don't think.

I've been losing mine in bits and pieces over the last week and a half or so.

You can lose it earlier and it can re-form (which may happen with your sister since she's only 28 weeks)

Yeah, I thought it was too soon, but i'm a FTM and what do I know LOL!

But she is 7 months and the doctor told her that since she is in the last tri. it can come out really soon, or wait until labor. I was just curious to know! Thanks ladies for your help

I'm 37+3 today and still haven't lost mine (that I know of). But I do check every time I wipe. I've read that some people don't notice when they lose theirs or that it can come out when you're lying on the hospital bed ready to deliver.

That was me at 39 weeks with DD#1

first pregnancy i lost it at about 37 weeks.  This pregnancy was (i think) either 28 or 29 weeks. -which i freaked out a little but doc said that it's fine.

Some women do lose part of it early but it rebuilds itself up until labor, when it falls out because of dilation and active labor then it will be gone for good.

3rd time mom here -- I did not see the loss of my mucus plug with any of my kids.  It must have happened in the middle of the night when it was dark (because I would always check when I wiped), or during labor.  However, with this preg I have had a TON more discharge so I wouldn't be surprised if I see something this time...

With my first I lost it about a week before delivery which was over so at about 40 weeks. The second one I lost about a week and a half before I was induced so about 39 weeks

this. losing it doesn't mean much when you can grow it back so easily.
