Adoption

how many of you?

are foster or foster/adopt and renting? We rent and were just faced with IVF#2 being negative. We adopted a teenager in June of 2009 and now are looking into building our family through adoption again. We always thought we were meant to just adopt but our IVF'S were covered 100% by insurance so we decided to give it a try. Well as you see that didnt work so we are back to were we wanted to be, adopting, however, we rent and didnt know if that would be a problem with trying to get a younger child?

Re: how many of you?

  • When we were going the foster/adopt route, renting wasn't an issue.  We don't rent, but our friends more or less do (she is the pastor of our church and, therefore, live in the parsonage).  As long as the house was up to their standards, renting wasn't an issue.

  • we dont rent, but i know for sure, its not an issue here.
  • I don't rent but I know for my state (AZ) renting doesn't matter, all they want you to show is that you can financially afford to take care of your existing household and a new child as well.  They don't care if you rent or own, apartment or house.
