Yes. She has an Angel Dear giraffe and monkey. I gave it to her around 6 months when we unswaddled and when I was confident she could roll well both ways and move things away if needed.
Still no lovey here but ive wondered how people get their kids to take one.

We have several and I've just started leaving them in the crib with her during nap and bed times. As of yet, she isn't cuddling them or anything. We'll see...

but I don't think she really started to LOVE it until around 11 - 12 mo. She started sleeping with it around 8 mo, I think. We didn't really encourage or discourage it, though. She just decided on her own.
She likes to stuff it in her mouth and suck on it. I prefer it to a pacifier, but I do need to get another one, b/c it starts to STINK ( we call it the "stanket") and she really only likes this one....
Thanks for asking this I've been wondering too! We have 5 of those thongs but she still doesn't respond to toys. Part of me wants to avoid getting her attached to a toy or blankie but I assume it's inevitable at some point. I just hate the idea of an object being the only thing that will soothe them and the possibility of losing that object.

DD never took to any that we provided until she was about 1 1/2. She loves her Rosetta (Tink's friend) doll. She also loves on any silky blankie or ribbon.

Hee - I don't think thongs are probably a very good lovie. Not very cuddly, and maybe a little awkward to take out in public! (Sorry, I know what you meant, but it maded me giggle a little. I'm immature like that)

I would only use thongs as lovies IF they are freshly laundered.

We use Gerber prefold CDs as burp cloths. Lately, DD has been grabbing, chewing & snuggling them. DH & I joked that she's going to wind up sleeping with one of these in 10 years as her security blanket.
And I may or may not still have my own baby blanket that I may or may not still have slept with when DH & I started dating...

DS has a STL Cardinal taggie blanket. It's fleece and super soft. I introduced it when we started sleep training and 5.5 months. We only use ours for sleeping.
During the day he has a small stuffed Elmo. We found it at a yard sale and he latched onto it. It made car rides so much more pleasant. Instead of screaming the entire ride, he now chews on Elmo. Best $.25 I have ever spent.
