Yesterday, DH and I were so anxious to go start our baby registry, so we headed over to Target to get started. We had planned to do things that we don't want gender-specific since we haven't found out yet.
So, first of all you could tell the lady that gave us the scanner didn't really know what she was doing. It took her awhile to pick out what scanner to give us, since I guess some of them weren't working right. So we finally get started. We were really getting on a roll when after about 7 minutes DH says "Great, it says 'Battery Low, return to guest services.'"
We take it back to guest services, and it took them like 10 minutes to find one that said it had 100% battery life. We figure we're good to go and get back to scanning. We were really having a good time, and about 5-7 minutes later... "Battery low, return to guest services." It said it had 29% battery left, so I suggested we just kept going for a bit longer. We scanned a few more things, and not long after, it went completely dead!
We tried one more time, but none of them were charged. They basically told us to come back another day, since they obviously weren't working right. It was kind of annoying, but luckily I wasn't hormonal or anything so I was fine about it. I think Target should be a little more on the ball, though!
Anyone else have a bad experience?
Re: Bad baby registry experience at Target
so far i have only had a bad experience with Target's useless website!
i had a frustrating experience at Babies R Us, because the scanner stopped adding item to our registry after we deleted an item. after about 20 mintues of scanning stuff, my hubby was sure it wasn't working right. we went back to the help desk, and sure enough it had only saved our first item! we had to start all over.
on top of that, when i tried to log on the their website to make adjustments, my registry was created without a password (even though i gave them one). the only way to fix it is to call their 800 number or go back into the store.
ugh.
Hoping a Target by me will be better than that and better than Babies R Us!
We started our registry in BRU and it was horrible. The staff was so annoyed with us that we had to ask questions, some items didn't have barcodes to scan at all and when we got home to look at the registry, we found out that every piece of clothing we added was not available online (even though the scanner didn't tell us that- which is was supposed to) and there were no pictures of it available online either.
Going to give Target a shot, and possibly another BRU. We don't have a Walmart anywhere near us... any ideas of other places to register? I like seeing the things in person, but if I have to, will just do an amazon registry and save the headache.
That is way annoying. We dealt with this a little bit in our wedding registry as well. Like I said, Target needs to get on the ball! I think they should at least have a functional website, lol.
I had started registering online, but so much that I was adding ended up being "online only," and I know that can be annoying for my family and friends shopping at Target and realizing that most of the stuff isn't there.
