Breastfeeding

My WORST nightmare just came true :-(

I just spilled 7oz of milk.

I want to cry.

I was pumping at work and I just shifted and apparently I had the bottle just resting on my leg and it got unattached to my flange and spilled alllllll over the floor.  All 7 ounces.  Ugh.

It's really frustrating because I'm supposed to start on medication today, but I have to take it after I pump, and now I'll have to pump more often so I won't get to start my meds until tomorrow.  Ugh.

  • Oh no! That is my worst nightmare, too - so far I've only spilled an oz a couple of times, and that's painful enough.

  • That totally sucks and I'd probably actually be crying right now (7oz = 2 hours of pumping for me).

  • I did this.  Not spilled, but I combine the bottles I pump together after I pump.  I was super tired and rinsed the "empty" bottle out.  Well, I'd forgotten to pour the milk out first.

    There were tears.

I've done that many of times.

And if it makes you feel any better, last night I went to pour the bottle into the freezer bag, accidentally knocked my hand on the fridge door and dropped the bottle on the floor (of course because I tried to do 100 things at once to save a second I already had taken the cap off)

Ive also poured the milk into the bottle warmer lol

I;ve had my 2 year old ( he wasn't quite 2 at the time) take the bottle that was suppose to be for my dd2 and drink it lol

  • I have to pump in the bathroom because it's such a small company there isn't a "nursing room" and I don't have any other private area to go. Well one day the week before last I was assembling everything in as I needed to and somehow one of my sheilds flew gracefully into the air and landed *PLOP* into the toilet...that was my worst nightmare come true. Ew.

  • Ugh that sucks.  Last week I had to dump 8 oz because my MIL made an 8 ounce bottle for DD (who never finishes more than 4 oz at a time), gave her a sip and then left it out on the counter for a few hours until I came home.  It was all I could do to not flip out on her.

That was put into perspective for me this weekend when I found out I have a lipase issue and had to throw out 100+ oz of my freezer stash.
