Before having DS, I was on Loestrin and my OBGYN said I have to be off of it for 3 months before TTC. I was wondering if it's the same case for the mini-pill?
I'm thinking it's probably not, since the dosage is lower. Anyone have any experience with this? Do I have to be off of it for a while before TTC?
I'm not longer BFing but I'm still taking the minipill because I don't want to switch to the regular one since we might be TTC soon. I will be asking my OBGYN soon but I wanted to see if anyone has the same experience. TIA!
Re: Mini-pill users, Q about TTC
The 3 month rule is a general rule for all hormonal birth control simply because there are no long term studies on the effects of additional hormones on a fetus. That being said, most OB/GYNs will also admit that there are plenty of women that get pregnant right away or even while on birth control and seem to have perfectly normal pregnancys and kids. Its one of those better safe than sorry rules that they will recommend to ensure the best scenario for everyone.
That makes sense, thanks!
