5 and a half weeks and won't nap!

Any one else experiencing this? All Im getting are 10 - 30 minute cat naps. She's also having gas cramps which wake her up, but sometimes she just won't even close her eyes. She's pooping, eating and peeing normal but the girl just won't rest.

Anyone been through this and have any tips? Up until last week she was very calm, quiet and easy to soothe. These past few days she's been a different baby.

  • You are so not stupid. My LO is like this all the time. Although she is way fussier in the evening over the last cuple of days so I am assuming we are heading into a 6 week growth spurt here as well.

  • Sounds like a growth spurt to me...I think we started our 6 week spurt last night and today she doesn't want to do anything but eat.

I just wanted to say we have those same doggie strap covers - except our real doggie got them and ripped them off!  They are very cute & I need to go get new ones!

  • My baby has been extra cranky and more difficult to soothe for the past couple days as well so you are not alone lol. I don't really have any advice though since I need some myself :-p
  • Its just always nice to know we're not alone! As for the doggy covers, my girl keeps trying to eat them! I have to twist them away from here frequently.

  • I'm in the same boat too!  But now all my LO wants to do is stare at the ceiling fan!  She is totally obsessed with it and wakes herself up out of a sleepy state to find it.

I'm having better luck getting her to nap today but its not without effort.  I keep an eye on her and when it looks like she is waking, I go in and soothe her back to sleep!  Momma needs a nap now!

  • I think you have to be sure to get all the gas out before the nap.  I know my baby is super gassy and will wake up too soon if she has some deep down gas.

    Excellent point to remember. Thanks!
