I've been lurking here trying to research the best brands for baby shampoo/lotion etc. When you use skin deep and something has the same overall rating do you choose based on the chemicals in the products? For instance, one has one ingredient at a 4 but another product has more ingredients listed but with lower ratings. How do you chose? Hope that makes sense! Tia!
I also think of the product in terms of brand reputation, availability, and cost. And if I like using it.
For example. We've tried Castile soap, and DH hates it. So no matter how low it ranks we can't be a Castile soap home if he won't use it. Also, deordorant, I've tried lots of brand and types but if it doesn't "work" for me I won't continue to purchase it.
I'm not sure if that's helpful. But that's how we determine products beyond the numbers on ewg.
