Houston Dog Rescue?

Hi ladies, I am new to the Houston area (Katy- Cinco SW). Today on my way home a dog was running down S. Fry Rd near Spring Green Blvd. I didn't want it to get hit by a car so I picked him up and took him to my vet to see if he was microchipped. He's not. I'd prefer to take him to a no-kill shelter/rescue but being new to the area I'm not sure which ones are. Any help would be much appreciated! TIA!

Re: Houston Dog Rescue?

  • Since you live near the Katy area, you can try Citizens For Animal Protection (aka CAP).  They're not a no-kill shelter, but they don't put down as much as the city shelter.
  • The ASPCA in the heights is no kill and is actually a really nice facility....(considering).  There is also a place called Noah's Ark. They are more of a "Mom and Pop" animal shelter, but call first because sometimes they are full. They are located in Cypress.
