Dr. Sears? Is he the parenting guru?

I have come across this said doctor many- a -times during pregnancy and now that my baby is here...What are your thoughts about him and his philosophies?

    I've just recently started getting into him.  I like and agree with what he has to say a whole lot better than some of the other material I've read, so I'll stick with him for now.

    It's like everything else out there about parenting-- just more information. If it works for your parenting style, use it. If not, disregard.

    Not a fan. He pushes routine cord blood banking (which the AAP says there's no strong evidence in favor of recommending) in magazines right next to ads for the C.ord B.lood R.egistry and advertises for them on his website, so I have no doubt he gets kickbacks from them.
