Anybody else sick of spending money?

We just had to pay another 600 bucks for the meds for the transfer. With all the testing, the IVF, the IVF meds, etc. we are up to 22,000 bucks for this thing so far. I am just so sick of having to give even more money out, especially when I know insurance companies only pay a fraction of that amount and because my insurance won't pay, I have to pay all of it. We can't do anything at all because every time we turn around, we have to pay more money. Anybody else in this same boat?

we are also at 22k... it sucks so fricken bad.. i am sorry you are at this point but let remain hopeful that this is it and we shell out no more money!!!

Doing lots of praying and being thankful for a momma who has given us a lot of the money as a loan instead of the 15 percent interest medical loan!

Totally with you. It's unbelievable how much we've spent. All you can do is assume it will all be worth it.

lol - we used a credit card this time around and the bill showed up today. I didn't even open it - just threw it away and signed on to my bank account to send them a check for what I hope will cover the minimum due. Guess I will be doing that for a long time to come. IF sucks.

Yes. We OOP $25K for DE, got 11eggs from one cycle. After all said & done, we only got 2-embryos, nothing to freeze. Waiting on PG test next week Wed to see if it's a BFP. If not, I told my DH that we'll be taking $$ from the home equity loan & going to Disney World with our 3y DS.

I recently ran out Crinone (progesterone cream, b/c I wasn't going to do shots) & to fill the 'script for 60 pre-filled swabs it was $750 w/o insurance. I about died on the phone talking to the pharmacy. The next morning, the pharmacy called back & said that they ran the insurance & it was $175. I was ok with that. Go figure.  

I keep telling myself that it'll get better.  I'd rather have munchkins running about than a new leather couch.

Amen! I'm more sick of it now that the cycle is over and I don't have anything to show for it except a monthly payment and frosties I can't afford to get out of the freezer.

Definitely.  I know our running total and it's sickening.  I've been on very high doses of stims so the cost gets insane very quickly.  The cost is especially tough now with the holidays coming.  We've tried to talk both of our families into toning down Christmas gift-giving this year (they don't know about IVF), but no one would go for it.  Our families are out of control when it comes to gifts.  I don't want to attract any attention, so it'll be the status quo of obscene merriment this year.  Can't wait.  It'll be awesome.

Yeah, it's totally insane how much money this stuff costs.  We're already out several thousand dollars between the initial visits, second opinions, acupuncture, and supplements... and we haven't even started our IVF cycle yet.

Thank you, health insurance, for not covering anything.  We didn't even get the discounted insurance rate when visiting the in-network urologist.  (One appointment, $450.)
