Parenting after a Loss

She rolls!!

Both ways- I've only seen back to belly, but DH & his parents have seen both. All new this week, but today was the first back to belly roll.

So do we have to stop putting her arms in the sleep sack swaddle now? We're giving it a whirl at the moment, but I'm afraid we'll be up a few dozen times from a flail waking her.

  • Hey girl!

We had our first back to tummy roll on sunday during the Packer game, especially the stressful 4th quarter where they almost blew their 20 point lead. So during this stressful time, she rolls and we're both cheering her on, then 2 seconds later screaming at the tv. Good times. So glad it happened that way. Her report card from daycare said they witnessed her roll for the first time. I think it would have been hard if they had seen it first.

So now that she rolls, she won't stop and she gets ticked on her belly after awhile, even tho she first rolled from her tummy to back at only 25 days old. The last few nights she has woken up every 45 min - 2 hours squawking for awhile but eventually puts herself back to sleep. She also has a cold now, so might be another reason she's waking up. Otherwise we were getting 10-12 hour sleeping streaks!

Have a great time tomorrow w/ your LO! I have the day off with mine as well, but we get to start the day off with 4mo shots :(

  • Way to go LO!!

FWIW, I didn't stop the full swaddle with M until he was 10 months old.

  • Can she still roll with her arms swaddled? If so, then I would ditch the swaddle. If not, then I would keep the swaddle on.
