I can't tell you how many people told us that we would receive a lot of newborn and 0-3 month clothing at our baby showers BUT right now we only have 7 newborn sleepers and 5 0-3 month sleepers. Additionally, DH and i purchased about 8 preemie sleepers. So...i'm guessing we need more clothing but am wondering how many sleepers you woudl recommend. I'm focusing on sleepers because our little boy and girl will be born in the winter in PA and from what i have read the sleepers will be the easiest way to go. TIA!
Re: How many Newborn sleepers???
you might go through 2 or 3 in a 24 hour period with each baby so it depends on how much you want to do laundry.
Assume two outfits a day per baby for the first few months. We did laundry every three or four days, so tried to always have 16 outfits in each size.
Sleepers were the easiest things for me.
My boys lived in zippered sleepers last winter and I'm from PA!
If I were you, I wouldn't buy too much preemie clothing. In fact, we didn't use one piece. Mine were 5 & 6 lbers and used the newborn size until they grew into 0-3 months. I think we were in newborns for maybe 2 months tops and I think 10 sleepers in newborns would be fine.Babies grow fast and you'll be surprised how quickly they grow out of clothes.
Oh, and you'll probably get more clothes AFTER the babies are born.
How many of everything you "need" is definitely dependent on how often you want to do laundry. We are using cloth diapers and wipes and we are ending up doing laundry pretty much every day to keep up with that plus all of the spit up and pooped on clothes and burp cloths, changing pads etc....
Since we do laundry every day we almost could get by with only 2-3 outfits per baby total and they could just wear the same things every day. As it is we feel bad that we have so many clothes and we don't use most of them.
