On 5dp5dt and 6dp5dt, the tests were negative. On 7dp5dt, the IC showed a faint, but very clear, positive result. It's not an evap line, it's definitely pink. I even showed the pic to my acupuncturist, who said it was a clear positive result. To confirm, I used the same sample of FMU with a FRER and got a negative result. Today (8dp5dt), all tests are negative. And now, I'm cramping and spotting. Pretty sure AF is trying to break through the Endometrin.
I don't know what made me do it, but I Googled the lot # for the Wondfos. Apparently, several women reported false positives with this lot in the last month. The lot # is W0110632-3 with an expiration of 06/2013. They have a pink handle with HCG written on them. I ordered mine from Amazon. This is my first time using ICs, but I had heard such good reviews. Anyone else have a similar experience?
Lessons learned from this experience: (1) Maybe I should have listened to my nurse when she told me not to POAS. (2) IF is a nightmare and I'm ready to wake up. (3) If I can't get a BFP from a "perfect embryo", I'm doubtful this will ever work. (4) My clinic is evil and won't do a beta until 14dp5dt. I want to stop these meds and have a margarita.
Re: The (alleged) bad batch of Wondfos and sad BFNs
IVF #1 = BFN
FET #1 = BFN
FET #2 = BFN
IVF #2 = BFP, b/g twins lost at 20w due to partial abruption/PPROM
IVF #3 = c/p 5w2d
Long-shot Clomid/Prednisone cycle before next IVF = BFP, our beautiful, healthy girl born 6/26/13!

TTC again March 2014
FET #3 - May/June 2014 - all embryos arrested before xfer - back to the drawing board...
IVF #4 - July/August 2014
I also don't know about false positives - or any positives - but it sounds like a good thing that you've double checked, even though that has to be difficult news to take.
POAS is one of those things that everyone encourages, but it's implications can be so heavy and string along the cycle of hope. Hopefully it is still early and there's a chance for you yet.
Can you have something you really enjoy for dinner since you can't have a margarita?
It seems like there has been slue of negatives around here lately. I really hope you aren't one, too... it seems to go in cycles like that, which is odd.
hang in there!
Ughhhhh, that's horrible! It's seriously the last thing you expect or deserve, I'm so sorry!!!
I am hoping for the best for you also... Sending hugs and prayers for this all to work out for you!!
TTC since March/April 2010
DX: MFI - less than 1 million sperm, 26% motility
DH put on anastrozole to increase counts
June/July 2011 100 mg Clomid + TS IUI#1 & IUI 2 - BFN :-(
Forced break due to DH getting spinal surgery in August 2011
IVF - January 2012: BFN
FET in April 2012 - BFP at 6dp5dt! Beta #1 at 9dp5dt: 82.5, Beta #2 at 12dp5dt: 352 Beta #3 at 19dp5dt: 6000, saw heartbeat and one little bean at 5W6D!
After nearly 3 years of waiting our LO was born December 18th 2012!
Ugh. I once had a false positive from an IUI cycle -- I took HCG boosters in the 2ww but my nurse told me which day it was safe to POAS, and it turns out she was off by a day. It just sucks because it's such a roller coaster -- you start to let yourself get a little excited. It's definitely a twist to the "normal" pain of a BFN.
You're situation's obviously different than mine was, and I really hope that it's just too early for you. I scoured Fertility Friend's charts when I was in my 2ww last month, and I did find IVFers who got BFNs as late as 13 and 14 dpo and ended up pregnant, so you could still be in the game. Hugs.
Mild MFI, irregular cycles, HSG only showed left tube open
IUIs #1-3: Femara -- BFN
