So I just booked my appointment with my doctor since my husband and I have been trying unsucessfully for a year to get pregnant and I had a thought. When I was younger in my early teens I had back to back periods which would last 2-3 weeks stop for two and then start again for various lengths of time. BC partially controlled this and they did testing to see whether I had PCOS including an ultra sound and bloodwork. They determined that I did not have it at that time.
I do have a few of the symptoms such as being overweight and excess hair growth but since coming off my BC my periods have been pretty regular between 29-33 days. Is it possible to have developed it since then and should I address this with the doctor?
TIA
Re: PCOS?
Are you going to a RE? I'm sure they will do CD 3 b/w and an u/s. To be diagnosed with PCOS you need to have 2 of the 3 markers: annovulation, polycystic ovaries, and/or high levels of androgenous hormones. I have the first 2.
If you have regular cycles then you probably ovulate. Have you charted your BBT to confirm? They can also do b/w at 7 dpo to confirm.
Good luck!
After more than 2 years of fertility treatments, FET did the trick!
IVF March 2012 - BFP! - Severe OHSS = 8 days in the hospital in kidney failure
No heartbeat at 10w6d
FET August 27,2012 = BFP!
It's a boy!

I am going to my family doctor first. I need a referal to get an appointment with an RE. I don't know if it is different in the states but at least where I live in Canada you see your family doctor first and they do basic bloodwork and physicals and then give you referals based on the results.
I have charted but not consistently :S of the 4 months that I can reliably look at FF has shown a thermal shift and indicated that I have ovulated each those months between CD 15-18.
