The Leap Frog LeapPad.  I am considering it for DS for Christmas. On the one hand - I feel like he is too young and I don't want him to get too focused on this type of thing so young. On the other hand, I feel like technology is moving at a rapid pace and I don't want him to get behind (does that make sense?  I kind of hate that we live in a world where a 2 year old can operate an ipad, but it is a fact).  So, if you are familiar with it - what are your thoughts?

W got it when DS was 2. It was his car toy for a while but started to annoy me! He really enjoyed playing with it for a few months but eventually lost interest and we put it away. We'll probably bring it out again soon. To me, I didn't lion at it as a piece of technology. It was just another toy to us.

I got them for the boys for Christmas. I don't have any issues with technology (I grew up with computers, even though they obviously weren't as advanced as they are now) and I think I turned out okay.

They can use an iPad, but I wanted to be able to get them their own toy, not one to share, so the leappad was a good option.

I am a technology addict, so I think that is my fear - that I will turn him into one too.   It is very hypocritical of me.
