Penny, Poppy, Elle, Nell, Lo....so many great nicknames!
I'd dropped it out of consideration, but since reading that Penelope Cruz has a sister named Monica, I've started admiring what a nice sibset it makes.
Personally I don't care for it, but maybe that is b/c growing up my sister had a pig named Penelope, so whenever I hear the name, I automatically think of a pig.
I like it. It was in the top 10 of our list for the longest time, but DH knocked it off when we got to the final 6. My mother hates it. She is so mad because it is one of the few names we told we were thinking about and none of the names she told us made the is (Kaycee, Rylee & Vickee are her top choices . Her exact words were " that's not even a name" "she is going to be made fun of" " I'm going to find her a real name" This has caused my husband and I to re-think adding back to the list.
She also thinks that Natalie and Elizabeth are not real names either.
I wasn't 100% sure of the name before she was born but it was the only name that we felt we both really liked. I have NEVER regreted it and every day that has gone by I have just been more and more glad for the name we picked. It is feminine and not common and gets TONS of compliments

Love it!! My DH isn't so fond of it, so I don't think it would make our final name list, but I love the nn Penny. It's classic, yet modern. I mean, it's a REALLY old name given that Homer named Odysseus' wife Penelope in the Odyssey. It's perfect, IMO.
I love it, and so does DH. We'd use Poppy as the NN.

I really like it.
I like Poppy as the nn- much more so than Penny.
