The last couple months around here have been crazy, and I've been pretty down.
My BF wanted me to fly out for her birthday this coming weekend, but ticket prices were $600 and we couldn't swing it.
Last night DH went on to check and found tickets for $230 for next weekend - so we booked them!
I'm so happy! I'm gone for 3 days and 3 days and I know what a great time I'm going have. She knows how hard things have been the last couple months and already said we can just lay around in sweats for 3 days, cook food, drink wine, and watch movies! I've only been away from the girls for 36 hours or so, but I think I'll be ok! I'm so looking forward to this break!

On a related note, did you and your DH find a vacation spot? I think you posted last week looking for suggestions (we are looking too).
Sounds wonderful, hope you have a wonderful time!
Hey!
We decided not to go away New Years Weekend b/c it's so damn expensive. Instead, we are going to shoot for Martin Luther King Weekend because there are some great deals.
I got a deal about the Rio Mar Beach Resort in San Juan (appealing b/c I love puerto rican food!) that we are looking into.
Atlantis was running big deals, but we like to get off the resort and explore local stuff (esp with just the two of us), so I don't think it's a good solution for us. I've been to Nassau and Atlants (didn't stay there, just visited), and I love Nassau. We tried to find a hotel there, but nothing with a great deal and direct air fare (trying to fly direct).
There were also a few resorts in Bermuda with sales and we were considering losing out on hot weather for just a warm mild climate if it meant a good deal.
So we haven't decided- but we have more options!
I LOVE Palm Springs. My Grandfather lives there and we used to go visit fairly often.
If you like Mexican food try Las Casuelas - we always go! I forget the name of the other mexican place that's in town....if I remember I'll let you know!
So glad you're getting a break too!
So glad to hear that!
So funny. My friend doesn't know Palm Springs well either. She is from LA and I'm in Phoenix, so we're meeting in the middle. But she said someone had recommended a Mexican food place, Las Casuelas. We might just have to go now that we've gotten a double recommendation.
