Moby D?

Hello, I am looking for advice or user review on the Moby D.  I have the regular stretchy Moby and it's starting to get a bit saggy and I can tell we are getting ready to move on to something more substantial.  I am interested in a woven wrap, but I was kind of surprised at the cost.

Is the Moby D a good woven wrap?  It seems affordable.  Should I just shell out the $100+ for a decent woven?  I have been looking for local places, with no luck, that have woven wraps, but it looks like I will have to the online route which makes me nervous because I would rather see it, feel it and try it on before spending the money one it. I hate returning things!

I think I remember a website that you can borrow/try out wraps, does anyone have the website and has anyone used it?

Thanks so much, I have learned so much from lurking here!

  • I'm pretty sure that the Moby D is also stretchy.

Is there a babywearing group near you?  Most have libraries and you'd be able to try a carrier out.  I think that Granola Babies has a carrier rental program.

  • The Moby D is def. still a stretchy, it just has a panel of fabric to make it look different.

You also don't have to shell out $100 - there are a ton out there (esp on thebabywearer.com) for less than that.

There are a few websites that you can rent carriers from, but for the most part, I think folks just buy what they think they will like, and sell it on if it doesn't work for them. They do retain a lot of their value.

  • I was confused because on the Amazon product review it says it can be used to carry your baby on you hip and back too, but it says is stretchy cotton?  I think I will just keep my eye out for a "real" woven.  Thanks for your input!

  • I would check out The Babywearer website as well. The ladies there always have plenty of wraps for sale, and you can usually find a pretty good deal.
