Breakthrough bleeding...anovulatory cycles

Anyone have breakthrough bleeding or some occasional anovulatory cycles while breastfeeding?  Thanks!

Not sure if my cycles were anovulatory because I am not a charter, but I definitely had sporadic bleeding. I had my first AF around 8weeks (2 weeks after pp bleeding stopped) which I think was entirely from starting the minipill. I expected to then get AF regularly after that but I didn't get another AF until DS was around 8mos. From then until DS turned 11mos, I would have 2-3 days of bleeding/spotting every 2-3 weeks. It wasn't until he was between 11-12 mos that AF came back with regularity and predicatability. FWIW I BF until DS was 21mos so weaning had nothing to do with AF returning. Also, during the 3 months of random spotting I would also have some weeks with no spotting but major PMS symptoms which happen to mirror pg symptoms so I would freak out every few weeks thinking I might be pg again. HTH!

Yes, my first AF wasn't really AF, (I was charting and knew I hadn't ovulated yet) but breakthrough bleeding.  Even after I started ovulating again I had a cycle with heavy spotting around CD 31 (hadn't ovulated that cycle yet) then I finally ovulated on CD 40.
