s/o Preterm Birth Post

I'm curious as to how many of you ladies had a low PAPP-A score.  I know low PAPP-A can mean a lot of different things (or nothing in some cases).  Mine was in the bottom 5th percentile but my doctor didn't seem concerned at all at the time.  He said we would follow up with growth ultrasounds later in pgncy.  My pregnancy didn't last that long.

Just wondering what your experiences were.

  • I don't even know what that is, so I'm guessing I didn't?

  • It's a protein level they check for during the quad screen.  Low PAPP-A pregnancies are more likely to to have the following issues: Miscarriage, Fetal demise in utero, Intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR), Preterm birth and premature labor

  • I had a CVS done so I didn't get a Quad screening.
  • Everything was completely normal for my Quad Screen.

  • I never had any abnormal bloodwork - but DD wasnt IUGR. My water broke because of membrane erosion from an infection

  • We opted out of all genetic testing.  The outcome wouldn't have been different if the results were abnormal and I know a lot of people get false results.  I didn't want to spend my entire pregnancy stressing over what may or may not happen.

  • I had an extremely low PAPP-A score.  It was 1%.  It was really upsetting at the time. Looking back, I've always wondered if it was an indication that my daughter would be born early.

  • We also opted out.
