S/O ASD and Halloween Costumes

How do you deal with the level of authenticity required?

My son 11 nearly 12, is a Tollbooth with working gate, proper signage and I had to stop him at cash register and sliding windows.

He looks really cute and I'm fortunate that my H is a graphic designer and can paint almost anything.  He won honorable mention at the Boy Scouts and his friend who is dx w/ ASD was a ghostbuster and his father bought him AUTHENTIC movie replicas of the whole costume came in first.

I was just shocked at the level required for the costume.

Anyone else?
