is it normal to bleed for?
For me, it's been three weeks. It's not exactly heavy, but I definitely still need to wear a pad. When I did a google search last night, it said that the bleeding should stop within 2 weeks, but I'm not sure if that's necessarily right.
I do have a call into the Dr's office about this, but the nurse hasn't called me back yet. So I figured I would ask you ladies to see what the average is.
TIA!
Re: How long after loss...
My OB told me two weeks and then call him if it didn't stop. I stopped on that 2 week mark to the day. I also had an infection from the d&c. Your OB would probably be the best person to speak with.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
I bled for 14 days exactly, but my OB said it could be more or less. I hope you are able to get answers from your doc soon.

I'm sorry for your loss.
I bled for exactly a month. However, I don't think I had passed all the tissue at the beginning, and I had light bleeding/spotting for maybe 2.5 weeks followed by another few days of heavy bleeding, then it finally tapered off and my levels dropped fairly quickly after that. I was so happy when I finally went a day without bleeding!
I think you did the right thing in calling your Dr. I hope your bleeding stops soon. Hang in there.
Well, the nurse called me back. I have to go in tomorrow for an appointment so they can check everything out. Fun times.
I'm getting really fed up with that practice. I've decided that after my number gets down to 0, I'd be switching to another practice. But after the past couple of weeks dealing with them, I'm just really tempted to switch doctors like right now.
Do you think that's a wise idea? Or would it just be better to stick it out until my number gets down to 0? At the last draw, it was at 292. Given how my numbers have been progressing, I'm thinking it could possibly be another 3 weeks of dealing with them.
I would ask for a copy of my records and move on if I were you. If you're not comfortable with them, no point in staying around.
Best of luck, and sorry for your loss.
It's not the doctor that's aggravating me. It's really just the office staff. They just are so lacksadaisical. I think I'll probably just stick it out. But I will be so glad to get away from there.
When I first started going there, they were great. But they expanded to now offer special services (skin care, massages, nutrition, etc), and it seems like they just lost their patient care on the front end. It's a shame, too, because the doctor that I see is great.

So sorry for your loss. I had a D&C and only bled for 3 days after the procedure. I'm glad you called your doc and they are going to see you. You just need to make sure you have passed everything because you are at risk for infection if there is tissue left inside.
As for changing docs...if/when you do decide to switch, make sure you let your Dr. know why you are changing. Be specific and give details. You are probably not the only patient to notice the decline in patient care from the support staff, but if no one tells the docs there is a problem, they can't fix it. At the very least, write them a letter. Maybe you can save another patient a crappy experience in the future by speaking up.
