Im to start my PIO injections tomorrow and need some ideas on making the process a little easy. I will be injecting the site with emla cream 1 hour before injection to numb the area (I'm a big baby). It's been 4 years since I've done PIO but I do recall I used to warm the PIO with a heating pad first before injecting. After injecting I would also place heating pad in injection area to help with bruising and welts. If anyone has any other ideas please let me know. Nurse did tell me to walk around after injection while rubbing area to disburse the medicine and prevent welts.
Re: PIO injections
I have not real advice to offer, but I wanted to wish you luck with the PIO. I am really relieved that I am doing the suppositories instead. One IM shot (hCG last night) is enough for me for awhile.
Numbing cream sounds like a very good idea. I heated my injection site last night for a few minutes with a heating pad and it did not even hurt this morning.
IVF #1 ET 1 d3 embryo 10/30/11 BFP
3 Embryos frozen (1 d5, 2 d6)
DS born 07/29/12
FET #1 ET 1 d5 embryo 02/10/15 BFN
FET #2 1 d6 embryo didn't survive thaw, transferred last d6. CP
I started doing squats, and lunges after PIO injects last time, and I was a lot less sore - I think it disbursed more quickly/easily.
Good luck.
