I'm working on our Christmas cards, and can't decide whether or not to include our twins in the signature part. I've got a scheduled c-section on Dec.29, so odds are pretty good that the babies will be born either just before or after Christmas. What do you think? How would you word it?
Re: Christmas Cards-- include baby or no?
I think I would not put everyone's name (just Merry Christmas, with love: The Jones...) I know it is not very personal, but I think it is weird to include the babies that are not here yet. I have a name for my LO, and have a hard time calling her by name b/c she is an inside baby.
But, that is just me.
IMO, I wouldn't include the names of babies. I think it's sort of bad karma or something-- sort of like naming and referring to unborn babies by something specific before they arrive. God forbid something happened, it would be really, really, odd to have that on the Christmas card.
You could just wait, and send a combined "Happy New Year" card + birth announcement?
I think I would leave them out or just label it "The so-and-so's" as a pp suggested. Especially since most Christmas cards arrive in the weeks beforehand rather than right at Christmas. You could also say something like "We hope you are anticipating the holiday as much as we are!"
If you are doing a picture card, that will make it obvious enough the babies are coming anyway

TTC for over 3 years. After several infertility treatments, we received our first BFP!!
I was going to include something along the lines of "From our growing family"
My DH would definitely veto including the baby-to-be; he's really superstitious.

I'm due the 17th of December, and we're planning to include LO in the Christmas Card. In fact, I'm combining the birth announcement and Christmas card this year. I'm looking at something like "We got the best gift this year" and "From our family to yours" and putting his stats in there if there's room. I'm going to include either a family photo or one of just him in a cute Christmas outfit. Not sure which yet.
FWIW, I didn't send any cards last year and we're always LATE getting them out when we actually do.
