How long after RCS for a Bjorn or sling?

It's only been 9 days after my RCS but I'm wondering if anyone knows when you can start wearing the baby in a Bjorn or a Moby wrap?

I'm still taking it easy but know that I'll need to prepare for a doable set-up with twin toddlers (who are almost 2) and a newborn...I was hoping to use a Bjorn or Moby for the baby and push my double stroller.

When were you give clearance to wear your baby??

TIA

  • I want to say I used the Moby somewhere between 2-4 weeks, but did not use my sling until later, maybe 6 or 8 weeks.

  • I think I attempted it around 4 weeks pp. I felt much better after my 2nd c/s than my first.
  • I was told I could wear her as soon as I felt comfortable but the doc recommended having someone else around in case I needed to be able to hand her off. My husband and I went to the grocery store at 6 days because I was desperate to get out of the house! I wore her in my K'tan (similar to the Moby except you don't do the wrapping) and was really comfortable.

  • I wore LO in a moby starting at 3 days pp. It actually made my abdomen more comfortable, since it added support. A bjorn or sling might be a different story due to how LO would be held against you though.

  • I never thought to ask. I wore DS1 at 6 day PP at his first Dr's appt. I didn't buy a travel system and I couldn't carry his carseat. With DS2 I wore him at 4 days PP. On the way home from the hospital we had to stop at Target so I could get some nursing bras that fit and clothes that were small enough for DS. DS hated his carseat and screamed. We had a long drive home from the hospital so I thought we'd stop and give him a break. I never had an issues and my OB never said not to but then again I didn't ask.

  • I started wearing him by 6 days pp with no trouble (first CS, though, not a repeat).
