Hi ladies! DH and I are currently TTC #2.....as much as we can, since I haven't had a return of AF yet. I've been having a lot of possible ovulation symptoms the last couple months, but have yet to see anything! I've even POAS a few....ok several times and all BFNs. DD is 7 1/2 months old and I am still EBF (she takes solids too but still takes about 24oz of breastmilk a day). I know everyone is completely different but I'm curious as to when you all got KU with #2. Were you still EBF if you did BF? Did you have a return of AF before you got KU or did it happen before you even saw AF again? Did anyone have to stop BF to get a return of AF? I really hope I can join you ladies with 2 u 2 soon! Thanks for your info!

I'm still EBF and haven't had AF return. My LO is one. I quit pumping at 11 months and nothing yet. LO still nurses all night long (we bedshare) so we're going to try nightweaning starting this weekend. If that doesn't jump start O for me I'll have to completely wean
I have a feeling that I may be one of those who have to wean to get KU.
I got AF when DS was 6 months old, right around when we started solids and he loved them from day one. my cycles were a little wacky, but I got 4 of them before I got pregnant with DD. He was 10 months when I got my BFP. We were TTC but go pg very fast and werent actively trying by charting etc. I BF until he was 13 months and I was 18 wks pregnant, it was VERY hard since I was so sick, but it was worth it.
I know many people who didnt get their periods til their kids were a year or more while nursing. Basically when they dropped a feeding or so they got AF. But you may not have to do that. As your LO gets more info finger food and food in general you may get AF since she drops a feeding on her own, or nurses less for a feeding. They usually eat a lot more solids around 9 months or so.
Good luck!
Most likely you'll need at least one AF before you can really TTC. I think it's tougher since you're still BFing a lot.
AF returned for me when DD was around 8 months old, but my cycles were all over the place (some as far as 46 days part). We just got lucky and got KU shortly after DD's 1st birthday.
I don't think you'll have to stop BFing to get a BFP. I was still BFing DD 3 times per day when I got KU. I will be weaning in a couple weeks though.
Please keep your LOs RF as long as possible
I was still EBF when I got my first PP AF ... it was just over 9 months after having her.
We conceived on our third cycle and I actually stopped BF that month.
I weaned completely at 6 months and first AF arrived about a month later. We were pregnant on the first cycle after that. I'm guessing AF only returned because I completely weaned, but it could have been a coincidence.
FWIW, I was not exclusively bfing the whole time, although I would usually be nursing or pumping every 2-3 hours day and night (he would eat 3-4 time during the night), save for maybe one bottle in there somewhere. This went on until 4-5 months in when I started cutting back one feeding a day every 1-2 weeks. Meaning for at least 1-2 months of the time I was nursing, I was missing feedings all over the place and I still didn't get AF until a month after I weaned completely.
i was ebfing (no bottles or pumping) and got pg with NO AF and on the mini pill!
DD was 7 months old at the time (pg was a surprise)
WOW! Well, I think that's great
.
WOW to this too! DD is 7 1/2 months old now.....I would love for something like this to happen to me
